Public Screening


I sketched while I was at the public screening in the beer garden of the restaurant “Bierstindl” in Innsbruck during the World Cup 2018. Brazil was playing against Switzerland, the final score was 1-1.

Georges Perec

Georges Perec (7 March 1936 in Paris – 3 March 1982 in Ivry-sur-Seine) was a French novelist, filmmaker, documentalist, and essayist. He was a member of the “Oulipo” group. His father died as a soldier early in the Second World War and his mother was murdered in the Holocaust, and many of his works deal with absence, loss, and identity, often through word play.

Wiener Melange

A Wiener Melange (German for "Viennese Blend") is a speciality coffee drink similar to a cappuccino. The difference is sometimes assumed to be that the Melange is made with milder coffee but the Viennese coffee company Julius Meinl describes a Wiener Melange as "one espresso shot served in a large coffee cup topped with steamed milk and milk foam".

Ironimus

Gustav Peichl (born 18 March 1928 in Vienna, Austria) is an Austrian architect. Gustav built the EFA Radio Satellite Station in Aflenz Austria. He is also a caricaturist (using the pen name Ironimus). He was a member of the international jury that chose Carlos Ott as the architect for the Opera de la Bastille in Paris, in 1983.

Tsuguharu Foujita

Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita (November 27, 1886 – January 29, 1968) was a Japanese–French painter and printmaker born in Tokyo, Japan, who applied Japanese ink techniques to Western style paintings. He has been called "the most important Japanese artist working in the West during the 20th century". His Book of Cats, published in New York by Covici Friede, 1930, with 20 etched plate drawings by Foujita, is one of the top 500 (in price) rare books ever sold, and is ranked by rare book dealers as "the most popular and desirable book on cats ever published".
